Shipping Policy

Last Updated: August 26, 2026

This Shipping Policy explains how Julia Widhalm ("Julia Widhalm," "we," "us," or "our") handles the payment, shipping, and delivery of artwork purchased or commissioned.

Because our artwork is currently not purchased or shipped directly through the Website's Wix platform, shipping arrangements are handled separately and directly between us and the customer.

Shipping Availability

At this time, we ship artwork to customers located within the United States. If you are located outside of the United States and are interested in purchasing or commissioning artwork, please contact us via the Website's contact to discuss if another arrangement is possible.

Shipping Arrangement and Cost

Our Website does not currently process shipping orders directly through Wix.

When you inquire about commissioning or purchasing artwork, we will contact you directly using the contact information you provided to discuss and arrange delivery. Depending on the artwork and the circumstances of the order, we may discuss:

  • The shipping or delivery address;

  • The preferred shipping method;

  • Shipping costs;

  • Estimated shipping timeframe;

  • Packaging requirements;

  • Payment information;

  • The billing address;

  • Pickup or delivery options, where available; and

  • Any other information necessary to safely deliver the artwork.

Shipping arrangements will be confirmed with you before the artwork is shipped.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the size, weight, destination, and shipping method and communicated to the customer before shipment. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, shipping costs are paid as a fee separate from the artwork cost.

For commissioned artwork, shipping costs may vary depending on the size and characteristics of the finished artwork and the customer's location.

Invoices, Billing, and Commission Timeframe

For both ready-to-ship artwork and commissioned artwork, payment arrangements will be made on an individual basis but may include the use of Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle. Standard commission prices are available on this Website's "Commissions" page, however prices may vary and will be determined on an individual basis.

For ready-to-ship artwork, we will send you an invoice via email, comprised of 100% of the artwork cost and a shipping fee, if applicable. Order processing will not begin until payments have been received by us. Oil paintings may require an additional processing time to account for varnishing. This will be communicated to customers on an individual basis.

For commissioned artwork, we will send you the first invoice via email, comprised of 50% of the artwork cost. This first invoice is a deposit to secure your spot on the waitlist and does not represent the total cost of the commissioned artwork. Unless otherwise noted, this initial payment is non-refundable. You will be billed this deposit only after all commission arrangements, including but not limited to ideas, references images, size, medium, and delivery date, have been made and confirmed with us.

Work will only begin on your commission after your deposit has been received. Your commission may spend a period of time on our waitlist, depending on current volume of commissions in-progress or already on the waitlist. This will be communicated to the customer directly, and you will be informed when you project moves off of the waitlist and work begins.

Once work begins on your commission, you will receive one sketch for your approval of the initial composition. You will then have the ability to make suggestions or corrections. Once approved, work on the final artwork begins. Time required for completion of a commission may vary based on medium, size, and subject matter. Estimated completion time will be communicated with customers on an individual basis. Actual completion times may vary and are not guaranteed to be exact. If you have requested a specific delivery date, we will do our best to complete work in a timely manner but are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers or other factors out of our control.

Once your commissioned artwork has been completed, you will receive a final photo of your artwork to be approved. You will be sent your second invoice via email, comprised of the remaining 50% of the total artwork cost as well as a shipping fee, if applicable. Order processing and packaging will not begin until final payments have been received by us. Order processing for commissioned oil paintings may include an additional 3-4 weeks of processing time due to drying time and varnishing. This will be communicated to customers on an individual basis.

Processing and Shipping Time

Because our artwork may include original or commissioned pieces, processing and shipping times can vary.

For ready-to-ship artwork, our estimated processing time is 7-10 business days.

For commissioned artwork, the estimated time spent on the waitlist, time required to complete the artwork, and time required for drying and varnishing will be discussed with the customer before the commission is accepted. After an artwork is ready to ship, the estimated shipping timeframe is 7-10 business days.

These timeframes are estimates and are not guaranteed delivery dates unless we specifically agree otherwise in writing. Shipping times may vary depending on size of artwork and region of customer.

Shipping Address

Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping information.

Before shipment, we may ask you to confirm your:

  • Full name;

  • Shipping address;

  • Apartment, unit, or other applicable address information;

  • City, state, and ZIP code;

  • Telephone number; and

  • Any other information reasonably necessary for delivery.

We are not responsible for delays, additional shipping costs, failed delivery, or returned packages resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer.

If a package is returned because of an incorrect or incomplete address, additional shipping charges may apply before the package is shipped again.

Shipping Carriers

We may use USPS, UPS, or FedEx to ship artwork.

The shipping carrier used may depend on the size and characteristics of the artwork, the destination, shipping costs, and other practical considerations.

Once an order has been handed over to the shipping carrier, delivery is subject to the carrier's handling, tracking, and delivery procedures.

We are not responsible for delays caused by a shipping carrier or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If we become aware of a significant shipping issue affecting your order, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate with you.

Tracking Information

When tracking is available, we will directly provide the customer with tracking information after the artwork has been shipped.

Tracking information may be provided by email or through another method of communication agreed upon with the customer.

Lost or Delayed Packages

If tracking information indicates that a package has been delayed or appears to be lost, we will work with the customer and, where appropriate, the shipping carrier to determine the status of the shipment.

Customers should contact us as soon as reasonably possible if they believe a package has not arrived within the expected timeframe. If a package is lost by a carrier, we will discuss each situation individually with the customer.

Damaged Artwork

When preparing artwork for shipment, we take reasonable care that artwork is packaged safely. If artwork arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible after delivery.

We may ask you to provide:

  • Photographs of the outer packaging;

  • Photographs of the damage;

  • Photographs of the artwork;

  • Your order or commission information; and

  • Any other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the situation.

Please retain the original packaging until we have had an opportunity to review the issue, as it may be necessary for a shipping claim.

We will evaluate damaged shipments individually and, where appropriate, work with the shipping carrier to file a claim or issue a refund.

Local Pickup

Depending on the artwork and circumstances, we may offer local or arranged pickup instead of shipping. Pickup arrangements are made privately between us and the customer and are not conducted through a public storefront.

If pickup is available for a particular order, we will communicate the pickup location and arrangements directly with the customer. For security and privacy reasons, the exact pickup location may not be publicly displayed on the Website.

Third-Party Payment Methods

Because our current transactions are handled separately from the Wix Website, payment and shipping arrangements may be completed through private communication with the customer. We may accept payment through third-party services such as PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle, depending on the individual transaction.

Shipping information provided to us for the purpose of delivering artwork may therefore be exchanged and processed outside the Wix Website.

The use of any third-party payment or shipping service is subject to that provider's own terms and policies.

Changes to Shipping Policy

We reserve the right to update our shipping methods, carriers, shipping costs, pickup options, and other shipping practices as our business develops.

Any material changes to this Shipping Policy will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the beginning of this policy.
